Meet the hypnotherapy trainersPaul Peace
Along with Karen Bartle he runs a successful hypnotherapy and NLP practice in Sheffield (visit the Sheffield Hypnosis website). He sees clients for a wide spectrum of issues including low confidence and self-esteem, smoking cessation and phobias. His training experience includes university lecturing. He devised and delivered psychology courses to psychology and nursing undergraduates at Sheffield Hallam University. Paul is a member of the General Hypnotherapy Register and a Registered Member and Senior Clinician of the National Council for Hypnotherapy (MNCH). He is also a full Member of the National Council of Psychotherapists (MNCP). He is co-developer of Discursive Empowerment which draws on the insights of Narrative Therapy and Social Constructionism. He is a Chartered Psychologist and his academic qualifications include a first class BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology and a doctorate in psychology/social constructionism. Paul has published academic papers and presented a paper at an international conference on language and gender at Stanford University, California. His clinical qualifications include Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, Diploma in Hypnotherapy, EMDR trained, Master Practitioner of Timeline Re-Patterning and NLP Master Practitioner. He has trained in NLP Modelling with the one of the co-founders of NLP and founder of New Code NLP, John Grinder, and Carmen Bostic St Clair. His knowledge and skills from these areas routinely inform his hypnotherapy training. Karen Bartle
Her clinical qualifications are Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Diploma in NLP. Her academic qualification is a degree in Psychology. She is working towards Chartered Health Psychologist status with the British Psychological Society. Karen's experience includes lecturing psychology at Sheffield Hallam University to undergraduate psychology and nursing students. In the past she worked in the NHS as a graduate psychologist with people with severe mental health issues. She also worked in the community with people with learning disabilities and autism, and as a voluntary Victim Support counsellor. She also has experience of working as a probation services officer. She is a member of both the Hypnotherapy Association and the General Hypnotherapy Register. She has co-developed, along with Paul Peace, the Discursive Empowerment approach to hypnotherapy. This approach is taught as an essential part of the Academy of Advanced Changework's accredited hypnotherapy training course in Birmingham. |
